I stopped by the cafe after the tour and wasn’t totally sure what to make of it. The food was fine, I guess, but it wasn’t very hot and my sandwich was a little dry. The staff were really nice, so that helped. I’d probably eat there again if I needed to, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

We went for the jail tour and the audio visual parts were just really well done. The sounds and lighting made it feel properly creepy without going over the top. There were a few bits that made me jump, but in a good way. Just really glad we went.

I used bodminjail.org to check the ticket details and opening times and, yeah, it was straightforward. I didn’t have to think too hard about where anything would be, which is always a good sign.

The layout felt clear and not too busy, and the menu actually made sense. The booking section and visitor info were easy to spot too, not tucked away somewhere random like some sites do.

It worked nicely on my phone as well, which was handy because I was just looking things up quickly. Overall, just a smooth site to use really, no annoying clicking around or getting lost

We went to Bodmin Jail and I think the interactive displays were probably my favourite bit. They were easy enough to use, quite interesting, and made all the history feel a bit more real somehow. It didn’t feel dull or anything, and even the kids stayed into it most of the time

I had a quick question before booking i figured I’d be waiting a while, but they got back to me super fast. The reply was friendly too, like, it actually felt like a person wrote it, not some copy-paste answer. It made the whole thing really easy, and I don’t know, it just felt like they actually cared. I’d definitely use them again

Booking through the site was straightforward, though a couple of parts were a little unclear... Nothing too frustrating, and I managed to get it sorted in the end without much hassle.

We went along after dinner, not really expecting too much, and it was actually kind of nice just being out and doing something different. The atmosphere was good in parts, especially with it being dark, and it had a decent feel overall. I did think it was a bit short once we got to the end, but apart from that it was okay.

We went with our two kids, and it ended up being one of those outings where we felt like we’d picked the wrong place without really realizing it. The building itself is interesting and the stories are worth hearing, but a few parts felt darker and spookier than we expected, and our youngest clearly wasn’t comfortable.

Our older one coped better and I can see older kids enjoying it more, especially if they’re into history. For us though, it wasn’t the relaxed family day out we were hoping for, and it felt like we spent more time managing nerves than enjoying ourselves. Not terrible, just not quite right for our family. 3 stars from us.

I had a really good day out overall. The guide was funny and kept everyone entertained, and the jail tour felt surprisingly real, which made it even more interesting. I just wish the instructions at the start had been a bit clearer so we knew exactly where to go and what to expect.

Getting in was okay overall, but the line moved slowly, you know? The staff at the door seemed a bit unsure about what was going on, so it took longer than I expected.

Anyway, it was a nice experience and I’m glad I took the time.

Went after reading a bit about Bodmin Jail, and it felt spot on. The cells, stories, and small details made it easy to imagine how grim it was back then.

Didn’t feel cheesy or overdone, which I liked. Just a solid, honest look at the place and its history. Easy 5 stars

Had a really easy visit to Bodmin Jail. The parking was close by, so we didnt have to drive around trying to find a space. It made the whole trip feel much more relaxed, especially with the kids with us

It was definitely crowded in a few spots, maybe more than I expected. The staff seemed to be trying their best, but the lines still moved slowly. Overall, I’d say it was okay, just not the smoothest experience.

We went to Bodmin Jail on a slightly drizzly afternoon after grabbing a coffee in town, and it was definitely an interesting place to see. The building itself is really impressive and a bit eerie in parts, especially with all the old stone and dim lighting. A few of the exhibits were genuinely fascinating, but for the price of the tickets I did expect there to be a bit more to it. We ended up getting round quicker than we thought, even with me stopping to read most of the signs. It wasn’t a bad visit at all, just felt a little pricey for what it was.

I’ve got a high bar for exhibits because I get bored easily if they’re just walls of text, but this was actually really well done. There was loads to look at, and the stories were easy to follow without feeling dragged out. A few parts were genuinely creepy, but in a good way, which made it even more interesting. You can tell a lot of care has gone into putting it all together. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re into history.
